Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer (Frontend) will be part of the Conversation Intelligence Team, focusing on building an intelligent assistant for the sales engagement domain.
• The role involves close collaboration with customers, applied scientists, and product managers to shape the future of Kaia.
• The engineer will own features from design to implementation and will have opportunities to interact directly with customers.
• The position offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies in machine learning and cloud-driven development to enhance conversational understanding and system scalability.
• The team aims to revolutionize sales team performance by creating an AI-powered knowledge platform and conversational intelligence experience in Outreach.
• Daily responsibilities include partnering with product managers, designers, and analysts to understand user needs and build a product that meets those needs.
• The engineer will work with commercial and open-source real-time communication software to manage calls, meetings, and security.
• The role requires applying machine learning, NLP techniques, and GenAI capabilities to create smart features.
• The engineer will set direction for the team and guide the engineering vision while finding quick ways to prototype and test solutions to large problems.
• The position involves looking for the best return on investment for various pain points and working on highly visible parts of Outreach’s product.
• The engineer will actively participate in improving the team and company culture through mentorship, interviewing, and new initiatives.
• The role includes owning relationships with other engineering teams and collaborating with other functions within Outreach.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• A successful track record in developing and shipping large-scale web applications is required, with proficiency in web technologies including Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS, and React (or a similar framework).
• Experience with cloud-based service applications and shipping production-quality code in Java, Go, or C++ is necessary.
• Familiarity with machine learning, NLP, or GenAI is expected.
• A proven track record of senior technical leadership in a company with a strong engineering culture is essential.
• Strong knowledge of shipping impactful and complex software projects is required.
• Candidates must demonstrate the ability to set technical and cultural standards for engineers.
