Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for leading problem-solving, driving coding excellence, ensuring comprehensive testing, and implementing scalable and secure software solutions in areas like trading, swapping, regulatory compliance, fraud detection, and automation.
• Paxful is a people-powered marketplace for moving money globally, offering access to crypto and local currencies through various payment methods.
• The role requires past experience in fintech, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple team members, excellent communication skills, and the capability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ideal candidate should have over 10 years of experience in Python, PHP, or Node.js, working with React and JavaScript, debugging and optimizing web applications, and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in APIs, in-memory databases like Redis and Memcached, Figma for prototyping, Git, and branching models is essential.
• Nice to have skills include experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, network security, in-memory databases, processing queues, and proficiency in Golang and Java.
• Responsibilities include writing production-ready code, understanding team development approach, maintaining expertise in domain areas, utilizing design patterns, systematic debugging, and effective communication with other teams.

Requirements:

• Past experience in fintech or understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and security best practices.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in financial technology contexts.
• Ability to manage, coordinate, and prioritize work with multiple team members.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Must be located in the Americas or Europe (between time zones UTC-5 and UTC+3).
• Over 10 years of experience in Python, PHP, or Node.js, React, JavaScript, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in APIs, in-memory databases, Figma, Git, and branching models.
• Nice to have skills include experience with cloud platforms, network security, Golang, Java, and knowledge of economics and finance.
