Description:

  • Vanta is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) organization, which is responsible for developing and maintaining Vanta's core product offerings.
  • The role involves driving the long-term technical strategy, leading complex initiatives, and making high-impact decisions that affect the product area and the broader engineering organization.
  • Responsibilities include identifying, scoping, and leading large technical projects, driving a portfolio of complex initiatives, and ensuring iterative and sustainable impact across product areas.
  • The engineer will rally cross-functional teams to drive initiatives to completion, make strategic decisions that prioritize long-term success, and champion engineering excellence by improving processes and methodologies.
  • The position requires guiding teams on tough technical decisions, addressing product and operational challenges, and serving as a cultural leader by mentoring engineers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have over 10 years of industry experience with deep expertise in one or more technical areas such as frontend, databases, distributed systems, APIs, or AI.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and improve organizational processes in fast-paced environments is essential.
  • Mastery in system design and software architecture is required, with a strong ability to balance technical considerations and execution constraints.
  • Extensive experience in building user-facing SaaS products for both startup and enterprise users is necessary.
  • Candidates should have expertise in building 0β†’1 products and solving large-scale challenges, especially in action-oriented environments.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship experience is required, with a focus on consistently up-leveling teams.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to influence and advocate for technical decisions at all organizational levels.
