Description:

Mapbox is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Identity & Auth team in Helsinki, focusing on identity and access management, authentication, and anti-fraud functionalities.
The team is responsible for the reliability, data integrity, and security of the systems that serve as entry points for all Mapbox products.
The role involves developing secure identity and access management solutions, collaborating with various teams, and driving anti-fraud initiatives.
Responsibilities include spearheading new feature development for account management, designing future-proof systems, promoting operational excellence, optimizing technical debt, and documenting work processes.
The position requires a culture of collaboration, transparency, creativity, inclusion, and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

Candidates must be located in Finland.
A minimum of 8 years of experience as a software engineer, specifically in identity and authorization technology, software security, and service abuse prevention is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interfacing with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with software security and big data is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with senior technical leaders.
A metrics and impact-driven mindset is important for translating customer needs into valuable product solutions.
Candidates should be self-starters, proactive, and able to drive work to completion amidst ambiguity.
A strong team player attitude is required, with a willingness to collaborate and share expertise with diverse individuals.
Familiarity with technologies such as Web Services, Microservices, Databases, Software Security, Authentication & Authorization, Anti-Fraud & Abuse, and Big Data is necessary.
Experience with the tech stack including Node.js, React, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, and AWS (ECS, CloudFormation, Lambda, DynamoDB, EMR) is a plus.
