Remote Staff Software Engineer (Java, React/Angular, Python, Docker)

Description:

• Visa's Value-Added Services Innovations team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to modernize the platform for digital and mobile products using Public Cloud features like Azure, AWS, VMs, Containers, Kubernetes, and Service Mesh.
• The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining efficient code for frontend and backend components, ensuring optimal performance and quality of applications.
• Responsibilities include identifying and addressing bottlenecks, bugs, and devising solutions, defining software development project plans, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and leading code and design reviews.
• The position requires collaboration with team members and stakeholders, managing technical aspects of developers during project construction, and documenting designs for sizing and detailed artifacts.
• This is a hybrid position allowing employees to work remotely and in the office, with a general guideline of being in the office 50% of the time.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 2+ years with an Advanced degree, or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Java for backend technologies, and ReactJs, AngularJs for front-end frameworks.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, springboot, RestAPI, and Caching technologies.
• Experience with DevOps tools, container-based architecture for Cloud and on Premise like Docker and Kubernetes, and migrating/maintaining applications on Cloud platforms.
• Ability to understand requirements, architect, design, and build solutions, along with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with Agile methods and JIRA, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Git, Azure/AWS cloud engineer certifications, CKA, and CKAD certification are considered bonus points.
