Description:
The Staff Software Engineer, Machine Learning position at Discord focuses on applying Machine Learning across the platform to unlock new possibilities in user engagement, growth, understanding, and personalization.
Responsibilities include building and iterating on ML-driven products to enhance creativity, discovery, and engagement on Discord.
The role involves designing and implementing robust, high-scale, low latency content and user recommendation systems used by millions of users daily.
Collaborating with cross-functional partner teams to create ML-driven roadmaps and systems, making trade-off decisions between development velocity and system complexity.
The position offers the opportunity to work on building ML-driven user experiences from scratch in a dynamic environment.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist.
Demonstrated expertise in building low latency and complex machine learning systems at scale, from ideation to production implementation.
Strong product sense and a passion for user-driven applications and end user experiences.
Proven ability to communicate updates and resolutions to customers and partners, leading large and complex technical projects cross-functionally.
Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and solve complex problems.
Benefits:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $246,000 to $270,400 + equity + benefits.
