Quora is a remote-first company, allowing this position to be performed remotely from multiple countries around the world.
The role is for a Staff Software Engineer focused on the Monetization team for the Poe product, which provides users with access to various AI language models.
The Monetization team aims to build innovative features for user subscriptions and creator payments, creating a sustainable marketplace.
The engineer will develop systems for subscriptions, direct purchases, bot pricing models, and creator monetization tools.
Responsibilities include designing and maintaining backend and frontend systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, building user interfaces for transactions, optimizing payment processing systems, and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements:

Candidates must be available for meetings during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
A minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full-stack development is required.
Strong experience in either frontend development (React, TypeScript) or backend systems (Python) is necessary.
Experience in building and maintaining production systems that handle financial transactions is essential.
A solid understanding of database design, API development, and web application architecture is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly with monetary systems, are important.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are required.

For US candidates, the salary range is $229,559 - $267,615 USD plus equity and benefits.
