Remote Staff Software Engineer Observability (remote)

Description:

• Join Checkly as a Staff Engineer Observability and be part of the Monitoring as Code (MaC) movement.
• Work in a fully remote, async-first environment with a focus on high productivity and a strong SRE culture.
• Build high reliability, scalable software that enhances the monitoring platform for developers.
• Develop a high scale OTEL Backend based on Clickhouse, integrating OTEL Tracing with Synthetic Monitoring.
• Collaborate with a small, ambitious engineering team to overcome challenges in distributed systems architecture and cloud backends.

Requirements:

• A background in technical leadership that drives engineering excellence is essential.
• Experience in building, scaling, or managing production web services is required.
• Familiarity with production deployments in the cloud, particularly AWS, is necessary.
• Deep working experience with AWS, Clickhouse, Postgres, and Node.js is expected.
• First-hand experience with SRE practices, including SLOs/SLAs and modern incident management, is important.
• Strong communication skills in English for interaction with coworkers and customers are required.
• The ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment is essential, along with a willingness to engage with colleagues.
• Candidates must be located in time zones UTC-3 to UTC+3.
