Description:
Plotly is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and implement the next generation of their best-selling product, ensuring it remains innovative, scalable, and competitive.
The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and working on impactful projects.
Technologies used include Golang, GraphQL, TypeScript, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Github Actions.
Responsibilities include designing product architecture for customer environments, building self-contained deployable solutions, shaping deployment strategies, driving product portability and scalability, and championing observability and operational excellence.
The engineer will set security and compliance standards, collaborate with customers on integration, lead the evolution of the platform, influence engineering processes, drive documentation and knowledge sharing, and work closely with QA, product, and documentation specialists.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in professional software development, focusing on enterprise platform and infrastructure software.
Expert-level proficiency in GoLang is required, with a proven track record of building scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
Deep experience in customer-driven software development is essential, including gathering feedback and designing solutions that integrate with customer infrastructure.
End-to-end development lifecycle expertise is necessary, covering architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational monitoring.
Extensive experience in building and scaling distributed systems, APIs, and platforms is required, with a focus on performance and reliability.
Candidates should have deep experience with Kubernetes, including designing and managing clusters and developing software that interacts with the Kubernetes API.
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure like Azure, AWS, or GCP is needed.
Proven ability to lead technically challenging projects and make strategic technical decisions is essential.
Strong leadership and communication skills are required, with the ability to influence platform architecture and mentor engineers.
