Description:

Qualified is seeking a deeply experienced Staff Software Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for the Infrastructure and Platform team.
The role involves partnering closely with senior engineering leadership to deliver a highly resilient, scalable, and developer-friendly platform.
Responsibilities include driving technical strategy, implementing foundational systems, and enhancing engineering excellence across the stack.
The engineer will lead initiatives to support the platform's growth, focusing on deployment automation, observability, system performance, and fault tolerance.
Key tasks include designing and evolving infrastructure, leading resilience and reliability efforts, empowering engineering teams, hands-on systems building, and mentoring engineers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in software development at the Staff/Principal level, with a strong background in infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE roles in high-scale environments.
Deep experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, CDK) and platform tooling that supports resilient, observable systems is required.
Proven success in leading large, cross-cutting technical initiatives with strong systems thinking and a pragmatic, business-aligned mindset is essential.
Strong programming skills in at least one backend language (e.g., Go, Ruby, Python) and familiarity with CI/CD systems, monitoring stacks, and infrastructure automation are necessary.
Candidates must possess strong communication skills to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and drive alignment in cross-functional settings.
A passion for mentorship and a commitment to growing and inspiring engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing is expected.
