Remote Staff Software Engineer - Python/Rust

Description:

• Design, code, test, and release software using Python or Rust
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to enhance the instant-quote product and technology platform
• Take operational responsibility for services, including deploying into AWS and Kubernetes environments and participating in an on-call rotation
• Work in a small, skilled team environment that supports individual growth
• 1-year contract position

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a software developer in a fast-paced technical environment
• Strong English communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, DOM web programming
• Knowledge and experience in Python, Rust, and React
• Familiarity with Git/Github actions, GitLab for build and testing technologies
• Understanding of software engineering principles related to security, scalability, asynchronous programming, and transactions
• Knowledge of service-oriented architectures and ability to lead service strategy implementation
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including understanding of Normalization/Denormalization, Constraints, Transactions, Replication, and Sharding
• Attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to manage multiple projects, and strong communication skills
