Description:

Shippo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Billing, Auth & Fraud Prevention team.

The Staff Software Engineer will lead technical design, systems architecture, and coding efforts within the team and across the Engineering department.
Responsibilities include contributing to high throughput postage and SaaS billing systems, fraud prevention systems, and authentication and security systems.
The role involves building tools to enhance internal processes, architecting and refactoring systems for optimal performance, and collaborating with the product team to define new product scopes.
The engineer will mentor fellow engineers, set high standards for engineering practices, and monitor KPIs for system performance and quality.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, preferably in computer science or software engineering, is required.
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in software development.
Experience in building and maintaining highly available, distributed, and scalable systems is essential.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting is required.
Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders across various organizations within the company are necessary.
A strong understanding of team dynamics and a desire to improve team processes are important.
