The position is for a Staff Software Engineer, Product Search and Ranking in the United States.
This role involves leading the design and scaling of a high-performance product search and ranking system.
The engineer will work on a service processing hundreds of millions of product items to enhance user experience through intelligent search, product matching, and personalized ranking.
The position requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, search technologies, and AI/ML.
The engineer will mentor, innovate, and drive complex projects from concept to execution.
Collaboration with engineering, product, and leadership teams is essential to build scalable and resilient systems.
Key accountabilities include architecting and leading the development of a scalable product search and ranking system, designing high-performance data pipelines, optimizing product discovery using AI-driven methods, driving system reliability and scalability, collaborating with internal teams, and establishing engineering best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in distributed systems, software architecture, or backend engineering.
A strong command of Golang and Python is required, along with experience in search, recommendation, or ranking systems.
Proven experience in building scalable infrastructure and data systems in high-growth environments is necessary.
Understanding of AI/ML frameworks and experience in fine-tuning or deploying LLMs or recommendation models is essential.
Excellent communication and leadership skills are required, with a track record of mentoring teams and leading technical initiatives.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) is needed.
A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
