A partner company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in the United States for a remote-first role.
The role focuses on advancing the development of LLM-powered applications by designing scalable AI tooling and frameworks.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing tools for LLM applications, defining best practices in prompt engineering, and evaluating third-party AI tools.
The engineer will create developer resources, collaborate with product and platform engineering, and use metrics to inform technical decisions.
Mentoring engineers, contributing to technical design, and engaging in full-cycle software development are also key accountabilities.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in developer tooling or platform engineering.
A minimum of 2 years of experience focused on AI infrastructure, tools, or applications is required.
Proven experience in leading platform teams and driving engineering excellence is essential.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as vector databases, RAG, prompt tuning, and model evaluation is necessary.
Hands-on experience with modern stacks including Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, and AWS is required.
The ability to measure and improve LLM output quality using prompt optimization techniques is needed.
Strong collaboration and communication skills in remote, cross-functional teams are essential.
A passion for staying current with emerging AI technologies and applying them effectively is required.
