Description:

Buoy Software is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their remote team, focusing on building software solutions for blood product donation.
The role involves owning and developing product features end-to-end, including scoping, architecting, coding, testing, and rolling out features.
Candidates should be comfortable in a full stack role and enjoy building simple solutions to complex problems in an agile environment.
Responsibilities include advocating for improvements to product quality, security, and performance, solving complex technical problems, and influencing team objectives and long-range goals.
The engineer will help define and improve internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices, and provide mentorship to other engineers.
The position requires participation in the team's on-call rotation and collaboration on larger projects.
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background and reference checks, as well as proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience building web applications end-to-end using a tech stack similar to Tailwind, React, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Postgres, with Ruby on Rails being a requirement.
Experience working on all parts of the stack (frontend, backend, and anything in between) is necessary.
Candidates should view software engineering as a craft and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
A desire to work autonomously while also collaborating with other engineers is essential.
High empathy is required, demonstrating care for teammates and users.
