Remote Staff Software Engineer, Security

Description:

• Dandy is transforming the dental industry by integrating and simplifying every function of dental practices through technology.
• The company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Security, to be the first dedicated security leader and establish a formal security and compliance function.
• The role involves building out the security strategy, maturing processes, implementing tooling, and fostering a strong security culture.
• Responsibilities include formalizing and leading the end-to-end vulnerability management program, managing the security compliance program, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other standards.
• The candidate will assess, select, implement, and manage core security infrastructure tailored to the cloud environment.
• The role also includes developing and leading the security incident response capability and defining the company's security strategy and roadmap.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with a proven track record of leading impactful security initiatives.
• Deep strategic and hands-on expertise across security domains, particularly in vulnerability management, compliance (HIPAA expertise is highly valued), and cloud/application security is required.
• Experience in assessing existing environments and implementing effective security controls and processes is necessary.
• Proven success in leading incident response and conducting thorough risk assessments is essential.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities to champion security across the company are required.
• Candidates should be adaptable to apply security principles effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
