The company is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Staff Security Engineer to be the first dedicated security engineer.
This role offers the opportunity to lay the technical groundwork for security and make a direct impact on protecting the platform and customer data.
The Staff Security Engineer will have autonomy to select, implement, and manage security solutions, hunt for vulnerabilities, and participate in incident response.
Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering teams to design secure application architectures, providing guidance on secure coding practices, leading vulnerability management efforts, and evaluating security tools.
The engineer will define incident response processes, partner with the infrastructure team for security controls, and promote a security-first engineering culture through education and mentoring.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in cybersecurity, focusing on application security, secure design, and vulnerability management.
A deep understanding of web application and API security, including common vulnerabilities and secure software architecture, is required.
Experience collaborating with software engineering teams to implement secure development practices and influence design decisions is essential.
Proven ability to lead technical efforts in vulnerability identification and remediation across application code and cloud infrastructure is necessary.
Hands-on experience with security tooling and basic infrastructure controls is required.
Demonstrated experience in security incident response efforts, including log and forensic analysis, is needed.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, with the ability to influence teams toward secure outcomes.
