1upHealth is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the team responsible for building services that host and serve an enterprise platform.
The mission of the team is to provide engineering teams at 1upHealth with solutions for Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing.
The role involves defining and owning the technical direction of solutions.
The engineer will identify strategic needs within the team and organization.
The position requires designing and delivering high-impact projects.
The engineer will partner with Product and Engineering counterparts to break down ambiguous initiatives into technical deliverables.
Collaboration with members across the organization to improve products and services is essential.
The engineer will advocate for engineering best practices throughout the organization.
Mentoring and serving as a role model for engineers throughout the company to foster an environment of growth and collaboration is expected.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of software engineering experience building highly performant and scalable backend solutions in a modern language such as Typescript, Python, Java, Go, or Scala.
Experience leading initiatives within a platform organization providing solutions for engineering teams as customers is required.
Candidates should have experience with access control patterns and know when to apply each, such as RBAC and ABAC.
Expertise in working with both relational and non-relational databases, including Postgres, ElasticSearch, and Redis, is necessary.
An expert understanding of securely designing and consuming RESTful APIs is required.
Experience integrating with OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML solutions is essential.
Candidates should have experience working in a modern cloud environment, such as AWS.
Container and orchestration experience, including Docker and Kubernetes, is required.
The ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders of both technical and non-technical backgrounds is necessary.
