The Staff Software Engineer will be part of the Simulation Test group, responsible for implementing scalable testing pipelines for autonomous vehicle behavior development and validation.
Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of automated testing pipelines, influencing architectural decisions, coordinating cross-functional testing activities, and maintaining high code quality standards.
The role requires effective communication of progress and results to leadership and collaboration with various engineering and product teams.
Requirements:
A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience coding in Python and/or C++.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in areas such as test framework development, simulation test management, or metrics analysis is necessary.
Familiarity with at least one column-oriented database or data warehouse (e.g., BigQuery, RedShift) is required.
Experience with dashboarding systems for metrics visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Kibana) is needed.
A proven track record of collaboration in a remote workplace and effective communication with diverse audiences is essential.
Candidates should possess a strong curiosity for solving testing problems and a commitment to quality.
A passion for safe, fully-electric, self-driving technology is important.
Bonus points for experience in testing autonomous driving or robotics software, complex physics-simulation-based testing, and verification of safety-critical systems.
