Description:

  • The Simulation Test group is responsible for accelerating the development, validation, and deployment of autonomous vehicles.
  • As a Staff Software Engineer on the Simulation Test Engineering team, the role involves implementing scalable testing pipelines for autonomous vehicle behavior development and validation.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional testing activities, leading the design and implementation of automated testing pipelines, and collaborating with partner teams to interpret testing signals for operational road readiness.
  • The engineer will communicate progress and results to leadership and maintain high technical standards for code quality through architectural design and code reviews.

Requirements:

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
  • Equivalent experience includes tech leadership in complex environments, driving technical design and execution across multiple teams.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience coding in Python and/or C++ is necessary.
  • At least 4 years of experience in test framework development, simulation test creation and management, or metrics analysis for extracting test signals is required.
  • Familiarity with at least one column-oriented database or data warehouse, such as BigQuery or RedShift, is needed.
  • Experience with dashboarding systems for metrics visualization, like Looker, Tableau, or Kibana, is required.
  • A proven track record of effective collaboration in a remote workplace, particularly with data scientists, product managers, machine learning engineers, and systems engineers, is essential.
  • Candidates should possess an innate curiosity for solving testing problems, a mindset for scaling, and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and experience addressing diverse audiences are necessary.
  • A passion for safe, fully-electric, self-driving technology and its societal impact is required.
