  • The Staff Software Engineer will lead the backend engineering team, focusing on a real-time advertising bidding system that handles over 3,000,000 requests per second and stores several terabytes of data daily.
  • Technologies used include Go, Ruby on Rails, Aerospike, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, RocksDB, Redshift, ScyllaDB, and GraphQL.
  • The Stats & Analytics team manages the end-to-end data lifecycle, ingesting diverse data types and distributing this data across critical downstream services.
  • The team focuses on scalability, performance, reliability, and data consistency, leveraging a modern tech stack including Golang, TiDB, Redshift, Snowflake, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and HDFS.
  • The position is remote and open to candidates located anywhere in North America.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have experience working with large datasets and real-time analytics services.
  • A proven track record of delivering results and leading high-impact teams is required.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience in distributed systems, architecting scalable microservices and data pipelines in a high-growth technology company is necessary.
  • A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience, including mentoring and conducting interviews, is required.
  • A strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms is essential.
  • Candidates should have up-to-date knowledge and experience in the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Experience with Go and high-performance databases is a plus.
