Description:

Narvar is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to build fraud prevention products and enhance the Narvar platform.
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust streaming data pipelines using technologies like Apache Beam, Dataflow, or similar frameworks.
Responsibilities include architecting, implementing, and optimizing APIs that serve data from large-scale databases such as Google Bigtable.
The engineer will design and optimize table schemas in Bigtable, ensuring efficient data access and performance.
Writing efficient, maintainable, and scalable code in Java, Golang, or Rust is required.
The position demands strong ownership of work, driving projects from concept to production with high-quality deliverables.
Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues to ensure high availability and reliability of data services is essential.
Staying updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and DevOps is expected.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to architect scalable data solutions is a key part of the role.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of relevant experience.
Proven experience with streaming data pipelines, preferably using Apache Beam, Dataflow, or similar technologies is required.
Extensive experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies is necessary.
Candidates should have extensive experience with large-scale databases such as Google Bigtable/Cassandra, including building and optimizing APIs to serve data.
Expertise in designing table schemas in Bigtable, following best practices for efficient data access and performance is required.
Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Java, Golang, or Rust is essential.
Demonstrated experience in a zero-to-one startup environment is preferred, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
A strong ownership mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results is necessary.
Proficiency in writing SQL queries for analysis and debugging is required.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective teamwork.
