Description:
SoSafe is seeking a Staff SRE Security Engineer to design and build a Security Operations stack using primarily AWS native and open source components.
The role emphasizes the importance of production security data being useful to product developers within a strong DevOps culture.
This position involves technical leadership, architecture and design, technical delivery, mentoring, and enabling other teams.
The engineer will collaborate closely with stakeholders from the Security, Platform, Infrastructure, and IT teams.
Responsibilities include leading the architecture, design, and delivery of a highly automated, cloud-native, developer-friendly Security Operations stack, which includes log aggregation, correlation, analysis, and alerting.
The engineer will contribute to cross-organization incident response processes, including training and exercising.
Collaboration with other teams on architectural patterns and best practices for securing multi-tenant SaaS applications is expected.
The role involves integrating endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools and AWS-native security services into the infrastructure.
Contribution to the in-working-hours shared Security-team triage rotation is also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have significant professional experience in DevOps teams such as platform, infrastructure, SRE, or data engineering, specifically supporting SaaS products.
A deep knowledge of AWS services and tools, including Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, and GitHub/GitOps, is required.
Strong experience in incident response is essential.
The ability to think holistically about user needs, technology, and processes to deliver high-value outcomes is necessary.
Solid skills in a modern development language such as Python or Go are required, with a primary focus on TypeScript.
While not mandatory, professional experience working with a security team is desirable.
Experience in developing and enabling cross-organizational processes, particularly in incident response, is a plus.
