Description:
The Staff Technical Duty Officer (TDO) role involves supporting and protecting ServiceNow’s public services, specifically for US Federal customers.
This position requires passing a background screening, including a credit check, criminal check, and drug test, and is only open to US citizens, naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents.
TDOs are responsible for maintaining the availability and performance of ServiceNow's cloud platform, leveraging extensive system, network, and database skills.
The role includes coordinating recovery efforts and acting as the crisis manager during major outages to ensure rapid resolution of issues.
TDOs develop new solutions, build requirements for procedures and automations, and verify that new services meet operational needs before production release.
The position requires participation in an on-call rotation and involves driving organization-wide change through post-incident reviews and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
TDOs provide leadership to a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and tackle problems ranging from Linux kernel configurations to large-scale capacity constraints.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in Linux enterprise service operations, SRE, or Systems Engineering.
An in-depth understanding of technology related to operating services or platforms in public or private cloud environments is required.
Candidates should possess meticulous analytical skills to identify and understand the root causes of critical issues.
Excellent collaboration skills across diverse cross-functional teams are essential.
Familiarity with networking technologies such as routing, switching, DNS, load balancing, and CDN is preferred.
A working knowledge of scripting languages such as BASH, Python, or Perl is necessary.
Incident management experience and the ability to remain calm under pressure during crises are required.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with other teams are essential.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical degree is required.

The position offers a competitive base pay ranging from $158,500 to $277,500, plus equity and variable compensation.
