Description:

IntheLoop is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for a remote position in Summer 2025.
The intern will have end-to-end ownership over the design, fine-tuning, and deployment of a generative AI agent that integrates with the existing software suite used by thrift store clients.
The role involves contributing directly to the core codebase, shaping product features, debugging critical issues, and shipping tools that support circular systems and real-world users.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in side projects, a desire to build, a willingness to learn, and a passion for solving high-impact problems that benefit people and the planet.
Responsibilities include designing, prototyping, and deploying an AI agent, debugging and optimizing production code, participating in weekly sprint planning, and contributing to internal R&D.

Requirements:

Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar is required.
Comfort with version control systems (Git), APIs, and shipping real-world software is necessary.
Candidates should have built their own side projects, GitHub experiments, or contributed to open source.
Familiarity with ML/AI tools or libraries, such as Hugging Face, LangChain, or OpenAI, is preferred.
A strong interest in sustainability, social impact, or building tools that help people is essential.
