Description:
LightEdge Solutions is seeking an experienced and dynamic Support Engineer to join their team.
The role involves collaborating with multiple departments and stakeholders across various technologies, including network architecture, storage solutions, disaster recovery, and virtualization.
The Support Engineer will act as a technical thought leader within the support organization, staying ahead of emerging trends and technologies.
Responsibilities include fielding escalations from support team members and providing timely resolutions to complex customer issues involving network routing, security, virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery.
The position requires collaboration with senior engineers for advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
The Support Engineer will engage with Operations Leaders to improve operational processes and drive efficiency.
The role includes updating internal documentation and customer-facing support materials, as well as partnering with the Training department to enhance technician training programs.
Participation in knowledge-sharing activities and providing after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation is also required.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to multitask and operate with minimal supervision while adjusting priorities is essential.
A professional demeanor under stress is required.
A demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to changes in technology is necessary.
Candidates should have an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a cloud provider or Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is necessary.
Strong experience with Cisco Routing and Switching is required.
A basic understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud orchestration and automation tools, such as Ansible, is desirable but not mandatory.
Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Backup Software (Acronis preferred) and Disaster Recovery solutions (Zerto preferred) is required.
Extensive experience in managing virtualization environments, particularly VMware, is necessary.
Advanced knowledge of storage solutions, with a preference for experience with Pure and SolidFire systems, is required.
Advanced knowledge of configuration and maintenance of firewalls, especially FortiGate, is necessary.
A foundational understanding of networking principles and proficiency in interpreting network diagrams is required.
Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIP, CCIE) are preferred but not required.
