Description:
The Sustainability Data Analyst (The Green Data Strategist) will analyze, interpret, and report on sustainability metrics to guide impactful business decisions and support green initiatives.
This role involves collaboration with environmental scientists, policy experts, and business leaders to gather, analyze, and visualize data related to sustainability initiatives.
Key responsibilities include collecting and analyzing sustainability data on energy use, emissions, waste, and water usage using statistical tools and software.
The analyst will develop detailed reports and data dashboards that track sustainability KPIs, such as carbon footprint and energy consumption.
The position requires performing carbon accounting and emissions analysis to quantify the organization’s greenhouse gas emissions and identify areas for improvement.
The analyst will work with sustainability teams to define goals and track progress, providing data-driven recommendations for achieving targets.
Conducting environmental impact assessments to evaluate the impact of business practices and supply chain operations is also a key responsibility.
Staying updated on emerging sustainability frameworks and ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements is essential.
The role includes supporting communication and reporting for stakeholders by preparing sustainability reports for internal stakeholders, investors, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
Strong experience in sustainability data analysis focused on metrics such as energy consumption, carbon emissions, water usage, and waste management is required.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or Python/R, is necessary to turn raw data into actionable insights.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, such as GHG Protocol, CDP, and ESG reporting, is essential for aligning metrics with industry standards.
Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and lifecycle analysis to quantify environmental effects is required.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams, including environmental scientists and executives, are necessary for effective communication of data findings.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Data Science, Sustainability, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience in sustainability analysis being highly valued.
Certifications in sustainability reporting or data analytics are a plus.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainability data analysis, with hands-on experience analyzing sustainability metrics and creating reports, is required.
Experience with carbon accounting, lifecycle assessment, or energy efficiency analysis is highly desirable, along with familiarity with regulatory frameworks and sustainability disclosures.
