Description:

  • This position is a work from home opportunity for self-driven and motivated Systems Engineers to join the Systems Engineering Team at IDT.
  • The role involves providing 24/7/365 support for mission-critical services.
  • The individual will design, deploy, troubleshoot, and perform core system administration functions to manage critical infrastructure across the organization.
  • Candidates are expected to be highly motivated, ambitious, and ready to learn, making a direct impact on the company's growth and success.
  • Responsibilities include installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux/Windows-based systems, VMWare, Citrix, and NAS/SAN infrastructure.
  • Individuals will work in US time zones and are expected to participate in an on-call rotation for continuous support.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5 to 12 years of real hands-on experience in Linux system/Windows/VMWare administration, G-Suite administration, and storage administration tasks and troubleshooting.
  • A combination of skills in Linux server builds, Microsoft server OS, Active Directory administration, and VMWare infrastructure administration is required.
  • Experience with AWS cloud is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with RAS tools such as Citrix and Parallels RAS servers administration is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience with G-Suite administration and setting up SSO with G-Suite and Active Directory.
  • Experience in building and managing high throughput database servers on Linux is required.
  • Familiarity with open-source tools (Chef/Puppet/Ansible/Kickstart) for automation, installation, monitoring, and configuration management is essential.
  • Knowledge of DNS, Mail (SMTP, IMAP, POP), and SFTP services configuration and management is required.
  • Good scripting skills with Shell, Perl, Python, etc., are necessary.
  • Experience with server backups and data recovery tools and technologies (NetBackup) is required.
  • Candidates should have experience with installation/patching of operating systems and application software.
  • Deep knowledge of underlying hardware subsystems/technologies and troubleshooting experience is essential.
  • Candidates must have deep knowledge of storage subsystems and technologies, particularly NAS & SAN storage management with a focus on NetApp, EMC, and Pure storage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required to interact within the team and other technical groups.
  • Knowledge of F5 (DNS/Load Balancer) is a plus.
