Description:
The office is based in Amsterdam, but remote work within the EU is available, and relocation to the Netherlands is offered.
The Product Engineering Department consists of around 90 engineers working in small scrum teams with end-to-end responsibility for specific products or parts of the architecture.
Teams are geographically distributed and work remote-first, meeting in person at the HQ in Amsterdam twice a year.

As a System Engineer in the Network Automation team, you will support operations and feature development for a platform that automates over 40,000 bare metal servers in around 30 data center locations worldwide.
You will collaborate with software engineers to build products and features.
Key responsibilities include understanding the hosting industry, developing and maintaining data center automation products, providing 3rd line incident support, regular on-call duty, collaborating with other departments, and identifying solutions for improvements.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of experience as a system engineer.
A basic understanding of networking concepts and network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers is required.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with bash is necessary.
You should be familiar with tools like Chef for managing configuration consistency across systems.
A good understanding of databases like MySQL and RESTful APIs is essential.
You must possess solid troubleshooting skills for network-related issues and experience with network monitoring tools.
Knowledge of common Linux distributions, particularly Ubuntu, is required, with optional knowledge of Red Hat and Debian.
You should be a team player, willing to help peers and accept help from them.
A drive to improve quality and prevent incidents is important.
Fluent English communication skills are required.
