Description:
Ground News is seeking a Systems Architect to support the integration of complex systems and improve user experiences.
The role involves developing a comprehensive understanding of the platform's systems by collaborating with system owners.
The Systems Architect will act as a technical intermediary among engineering teams, fielding inquiries and translating complex functionalities into actionable plans.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing system architecture, maintaining architectural artifacts, and defining architecture principles and standards.
The position requires triaging performance and data integrity concerns and partnering with various teams on features and support cases.
The Systems Architect will also provide guidance to junior-intermediate engineers.
Requirements:
Candidates should have strong knowledge and practice in technology, algorithms, data structures, systems design, performance tuning, and programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, and Next.js.
Experience with databases like Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, and familiarity with operating systems (Mac, Unix, Windows) is required.
Candidates should have experience with containerization and cloud environments, particularly AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for socializing ideas and mentoring teammates.
A firm understanding of API architecture and the relationship between back-end servers and front-end clients is necessary.
Familiarity with mobile technologies, particularly native Android and iOS development concepts, is important.
