Description:
The Systems Architect will design and oversee the implementation of complex technical solutions that support mission-critical systems in a public health organization.
This role is part of the Workforce Acceleration Initiative (WAI), which aims to help public health agencies improve their information systems.
The position involves working within the Salt Lake County Health Department's IT team to enhance the use of public health data for decision-making.
Responsibilities include providing expertise in infrastructure, networks, and application architecture, developing technology roadmaps, and methodologies.
The Systems Architect will evaluate consultant-recommended infrastructure, select data ingestion tools, and oversee cloud migration.
Collaboration with informatics teams, IT staff, business analysts, and data engineers is essential to align tools and infrastructure with organizational needs.
The role requires creating system architecture diagrams, documentation, and guidelines to communicate design decisions.
The Systems Architect will conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
This position is remote and requires candidates to be based in the United States.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Expertise in system architecture with deep technical knowledge of application design, implementation, and deployment is essential.
Hands-on experience in designing modern architectural patterns for complex IT solutions is required.
Knowledge of technical security and product management best practices is necessary.
An expert-level understanding of modern architectural standards for cloud-based solutions is required.
Experience in designing and writing automated test scripts for various testing types is essential.
Proven experience in applying software engineering best practices to product delivery is required.
Candidates must have the ability to develop architectural solutions for complex, multi-year plans.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are necessary.
Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams is preferred.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $103,500-$143,500 per year, plus benefits.
Individual salary offers will be based on experience and qualifications unique to each candidate.
This is a grant-funded, limited-term opportunity with an end date of June 30, 2025.
The position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement for U.S. based candidates.
