Remote Systems Architect (Backend)

Description:

• Seeking a Systems Architect specializing in backend development on a consultation basis for a 3-month contract.
• Joining a team of 8 backend engineers working on a platform for cross-product integrations for over 10,000 monthly users.
• Responsible for refining and advancing microservices architecture and enhancing the overall backend developer experience.
• Key role in driving improvements in scalability, system performance, and developer satisfaction.
• Tasked with ensuring backend solutions meet and exceed strategic goals while creating a productive environment for the engineering team.

Requirements:

• Experience with Federated GraphQL in a small to medium-scale production environment.
• Proven background in designing and implementing event-driven microservices.
• Proficiency in using Apache Kafka for cross-service communication.
• Strong understanding and application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Previous leadership experience within a platform team or similar roles.
• Familiarity with NestJS.
• Experience with Apollo GraphQL.
