Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware Engineer to join our team.
As a VMware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's virtualization infrastructure.
Your role will involve overseeing VMware administration, virtual machine management, troubleshooting, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our virtualized environment.
You will partner with other teams including Network, Windows Engineering, Linux Engineering, Security, and Storage.
It is especially important that our team communicates often and openly for successful deployments.
You will implement and support VMware vSphere virtualization solutions with a small team of regional full-time engineers.
You will confidently explain complex technologies to all levels of leadership.
You will develop and maintain clear and concise documentation of all datacentre infrastructure as it relates to virtualization and storage.
You will report into the virtualization team lead daily with updates on platform health and project tasks.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of virtualization experience supporting a large VMware environment.
In-depth knowledge of VMware, AD Group Policy, and network storage is required.
You must hold VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications.
Experience with Cisco UCS is necessary.
A strong network background is essential.
Experience with HCI - Dell/EMS VxRail or Cisco HyperFlex is required.
You should have a proven ability to keep pace with the latest technologies and skills.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are a plus.
You must have advanced knowledge in VMware Networking, data stores, backup, DR replication, vSAN, and SANs.
A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as IT, Computer Science, Systems, or Software Engineering from an accredited college or university is required, or 5 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
You should be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in team environments.
