Description:
Modern Campus is seeking a DevOps Team Lead to manage and automate client production environments on Amazon's AWS platform.
The role involves guiding infrastructure transition initiatives, including containerization and deployment modernization.
The Team Lead will mentor team members, reinforce best practices, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
This position requires a hands-on approach to engineering execution and leadership in technical direction.
Responsibilities include managing day-to-day production operations, addressing system behavior in production, and ensuring uptime in accordance with SLAs.
The Team Lead will participate in agile ceremonies, guide sprint execution, and influence the DevOps roadmap.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of hands-on infrastructure or DevOps engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or technical lead role.
Proven experience in designing and implementing infrastructure in AWS, including services like EC2, ECS, IAM, VPC, and RDS is required.
Practical experience with infrastructure as code (preferably Terraform), automation tools (Ansible), and scripting languages (Python, Bash) is necessary.
Expertise in Linux administration and comfort with command line tools for managing Linux systems is essential.
A deep understanding of container platforms and their deployment pipelines, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is required.
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) is needed.
Familiarity with Java, PHP, Python, Apache, and Tomcat is important.
Candidates should be comfortable supporting production systems and managing incidents, including participation in an on-call rotation.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary, along with a track record of mentoring team members.
Benefits:
The salary range for this full-time position is between $90,000 - $160,000.
