Description:
Masabi is driving the fare payment revolution, powering the journeys of millions globally by building fare collection platforms for public transport.
The Justride platform is utilized in over 250 locations worldwide, partnering with major transport players like Uber, Moovit, and Transit.
As a Backend Kotlin Developer, you will build new features across multiple backend services central to Masabi's systems.
The work environment is enjoyable and rewarding, with self-organizing teams using scrum, kanban, or hybrid approaches to meet their goals.
Teams consist of specialists in development, testing, and sometimes hardware, collaborating to deliver excellent business outcomes.
The role involves expanding fare engine calculations and architecture, working with diverse technologies and programming paradigms on complex challenges.
Masabi hosts hack days for fun, learning, and prototyping innovative ideas that could benefit customers.
This position is fully remote, available only for candidates based in Romania.
Requirements:
A good command of the English language is required, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken forms.
Experience in Kotlin development for backend systems is essential.
Solid core programming skills in Kotlin and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and domains are required.
A desire to implement quality software that operates at scale is necessary.
Ability to work as part of a team that owns their software and advises on the best shape of new features is important.
Openness to adopting well-supported ideas and solutions, demonstrating a productive approach towards governance is expected.
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with colleagues and contribute effectively to team goals are required.
A proactive and driven mindset to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively is essential.
