Description:
Capital Technology Group (CTG) is seeking a Technical Lead to support high-impact civic tech within the federal government.
The Technical Lead will perform analysis of data needs and system data structures.
This role includes supporting the operation of system databases and providing support for SQL development and runtime analysis.
The individual will ensure systems are reliable and available across one or more environments.
Responsibilities include developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
The Technical Lead will analyze user needs and develop software solutions, as well as design or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
The role may involve analyzing and designing databases within an application area, either individually or as part of a team.
Mentoring and supervising software developers is also a key responsibility.
Applicants must be US Citizens and able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position.
Candidates must have 11+ years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or related languages is necessary.
Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries, particularly JavaScript, is required.
Familiarity with back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React) is essential.
Experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), web servers (e.g., Apache, Jenkins), and UI/UX design is expected.
Candidates must be able to quickly adapt to new projects and technologies.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
Leadership and people management experience is required, along with the ability to provide direction to less senior team members.
A demonstrated interest in learning new systems and technology quickly is important.
Candidates should be able to discuss technical tasks and team process topics with team members and outside stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills:
A background in Python is preferred.
An interest in DevOps is a plus.
Experience with CI/CD, AWS, and Docker/Kubernetes is beneficial.
