Description:
Embroker is seeking a highly skilled Back End Tech Lead to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for the engineering team.
The position is remote and based in Canada, with a base salary ranging from $170,000 CAD to $230,000 CAD.
Responsibilities include designing and developing scalable, secure, and highly available back-end systems.
The Tech Lead will drive performance and collaboration across the team, working closely with architects and cross-functional teams.
The role involves mentoring engineers, overseeing system architecture, and delivering robust cloud-native solutions.
Duties include providing technical leadership, resolving technical issues, owning the delivery of systems, leading client meetings, and supporting team members' growth through knowledge transfer sessions.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in web application development.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a technical lead of a development team is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a combination of education and experience is necessary.
Experience in building cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS, is essential.
Proficiency in GO and a strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns are required.
Candidates should have a strong foundation in event-driven architectures and proven ability to create and maintain highly available, scalable, secure, and observable services.
Hands-on experience designing and creating Event schemas and services, as well as skills in designing/building RESTful APIs, are necessary.
The ability to write clean, well-designed, and high-quality code in a collaborative Agile environment is required.
Experience in a peak performance organization, preferably a tech startup, is preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cross-culturally on a global team are essential.
Candidates must be able to perform at a high level in a remote work environment.
