Description:

  • This is a remote permanent position for those based in Romania.
  • The role is for an experienced technical team leader who enjoys using and creating open-source software.
  • The candidate will work on a variety of interesting projects with a team of inspiring professionals at Nearform.
  • The position requires extensive experience in leading technology teams, including Software Development and DevOps/Cloud.
  • The candidate will translate client project requirements into deliverables and lead the team collaboration to ensure high-quality output within specific timeframes.
  • Nearform is a digital and AI engineering consultancy focused on creating transformative digital products for enterprise customers in the UK and Ireland.
  • The role involves working directly with clients on various projects, helping them translate their business and technical requirements into software applications.
  • The candidate will work in high-performing software teams that are distributed across different locations and may collaborate with clients' development teams.
  • Responsibilities include providing technical and line-management leadership, ensuring successful project delivery, identifying and resolving blockers, shaping architectural decisions, and providing project status reports.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have experience working directly with customers and users.
  • Experience in managing software engineering teams is required.
  • The candidate should have a proven track record of developing high-quality software.
  • A deep understanding of agile methodologies is essential.
  • The candidate must have a strong grasp of test-driven development and testing best practices.
  • Knowledge of best practices and design patterns is required.
  • The candidate should be well-versed in open-source technologies and tools.
  • A deep understanding of version control tools, particularly GIT, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies is required.
  • The candidate should understand operational concerns such as monitoring, performance testing, security considerations, accessibility, and GDPR.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices is essential.
  • The candidate must have a drive to deliver outcomes for customers and possess strong empathy and people skills.
