Description:
The Trainee Database Engineer position is a full-time role based in India, with options for remote work or based in Gurgaon.
The candidate must be open to rotational shifts, including night shifts.
Responsibilities include adhering to company security policies and procedures, performing database engineering and administration activities such as installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, backup, security, troubleshooting, documentation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
The role emphasizes the importance of staying current on databases and industry trends.
Key responsibilities involve assisting with database management, using public cloud hyperscale portals for database operations, and utilizing automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Shell Scripts, TSQL, and PLSQL.
The candidate will monitor database performance, assist in backup and recovery processes, implement and maintain database security, and maintain accurate documentation of database configurations and procedures.
Collaboration with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders is essential to support database-related initiatives and projects.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a directly related field is preferred.
Candidates should have 6 months to 1 year of experience in database administration or related fields.
A strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, ACID properties, and principles of data organization and storage is necessary.
Knowledge of SQL fundamentals, including writing and understanding SQL queries, data manipulation (DML), and data definition (DDL) statements is required.
Familiarity with public cloud platforms and databases available on Public Cloud is essential.
Understanding of Cloud Databases on PAAS and IAAS platforms, as well as different database types such as relational, document DB, graph databases, and key-value pair databases, is important.
