Description:
The Transport Network Architect will be responsible for designing and optimizing transport network solutions, focusing on DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), dark fiber, and carrier negotiation.
This role involves overseeing the strategic direction of network projects.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing advanced network architectures, leading and managing complex transport network projects, and negotiating with carriers for fiber and transport services.
The architect will provide expert guidance on network design and optimization, collaborate with vendors and service providers, and maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs and project progress.
The role also includes troubleshooting complex network issues, contributing to long-term planning of network infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in transport network engineering, with a strong focus on DWDM, dark fiber, and carrier negotiation is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field is necessary; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Expertise in network architecture design, DWDM technologies, dark fiber provisioning, and network management is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions are necessary.
The candidate must possess the ability to think strategically and contribute to long-term planning and network development.
