Description:

Rushdown Studios is seeking an experienced UI Engineer to support their partner studio and enhance the player experience.
The role involves designing and implementing various systems to streamline player interactions.
Candidates should be self-motivated team players capable of managing multiple tasks.
Game development experience is preferred but not mandatory; all interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
The position is based in Saratoga Springs, NY, with a preference for local candidates willing to work in a hybrid model (Tuesday-Thursday), but fully remote work is available for candidates in specific states.
Responsibilities include ramping up quickly with an existing codebase, researching and proposing UI process improvements, developing best practices for UMG and Slate, profiling the game’s UI in Unreal Engine, and writing reusable UI code across multiple menus.

Requirements:

Candidates must have three (3) years of professional experience with C++ and Unreal Engine, including UMG and Slate.
Proficiency in developing user interfaces for PC or console games is required.
Experience with memory management tooling and profiling is necessary.
A deep understanding of UI design principles and usability is essential.
Candidates should possess a keen eye for detail and a willingness to prioritize player experiences over personal code and ego.
A proactive communication approach is important for unblocking oneself and navigating team obstacles.

The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
