Description:
PeopleFun is seeking a talented and strategic Lead UX Designer for Wordscapes, their flagship word game.
This role is remote and reports to the Wordscapes Executive Producer, collaborating closely with Design, Production, Art, Product, and Engineering teams.
The Lead UX Designer will own the UX vision and execution, advocating for players and solving complex interaction challenges.
Responsibilities include driving the end-to-end UX design process, defining user flows, creating wireframes and prototypes, and ensuring a polished visual presentation.
The designer will analyze user data and playtest feedback, establish UX best practices, and mentor junior team members.
The role requires maintaining consistent UX documentation and collaborating on feature pitch decks and strategic planning materials.
Staying informed of mobile game trends and ensuring overall UX quality is essential for delivering a best-in-class mobile gaming experience.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of hands-on UX design experience in mobile games or interactive media, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
A deep understanding of player behavior, usability heuristics, and UX design best practices for mobile platforms is required.
Proficiency in UX tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, or Adobe XD is necessary.
Strong skills in wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design across various feature types are essential.
Experience with Unity-based pipelines and familiarity with the Unity UI system is a plus.
Candidates should be able to communicate design rationale effectively across disciplines.
A passion for creating user-centered experiences that are intuitive and visually engaging is important.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills are required.
Candidates must be skilled in organizing and conducting usability testing and player research.
The ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities in a live ops environment is necessary.
A solid understanding of visual design principles and UI conventions for mobile games is required.
Candidates should be organized, proactive, and able to self-manage deadlines and deliverables.
A passion for casual mobile games and a strong understanding of the competitive landscape is preferred.
An enthusiastic team player with a creative mindset and problem-solving skills is essential.

PeopleFun offers a competitive total compensation package with a pay-for-performance rewards approach.
The expected base pay range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000, based on market location and job-related knowledge.
Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical and other benefits.
