Description:
The XD Managing Lead (ML) role is for an experienced practitioner and player-coach, responsible for leading a small creative team of Sr. Experience Designers and Experience Designers on projects or workstreams.
MLs work closely with an Art Director or Director, generating initial concepts, defining and refining design strategies, and overseeing production teams.
They actively participate in client presentations, especially during the Design and Build phases.
The ideal candidate is a multi-tool player with a working knowledge of digital experiences, including art, copy, code, information architecture, and user experience, with proficiency in one or two specific domains.
Successful MLs can clearly and diplomatically explain and defend complicated ideas, using qualitative and quantitative research to support their design decisions.
Responsibilities include creating concept sketches, design comps, wireframes, functional prototypes, presentation materials, complex functional documentation, high-level site architectures, usability test scripts, detailed site maps, atomic design/style guides, usability test plans, user journeys/flows, journey sketchbooks, 360 personas, business rules, interaction models, and engagement models.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates should have 5-7 years of related work experience.
Proficiency in commonly used rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Webflow) and various UX and design software for creating launch-ready digital assets is essential.
The ability to present reasoning, evidence, and conclusions clearly and concisely, structuring arguments coherently is necessary.
A working knowledge of a broad range of technical considerations related to delivering launch-ready digital assets is required.
Candidates must be capable of drawing well-reasoned conclusions from evidence and logic, assessing the strength of arguments, and identifying potential consequences.
Analyzing complex information, identifying patterns and relationships, and breaking down big problems into manageable parts is expected.
A working knowledge of HTML/CSS is required, while familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Node.js, React, Vue) is considered a plus.
Experience working within WCAG guidelines is also a plus.
Strong conceptual skills and the ability to understand and extract meaning from data, arguments, and information are necessary.
