Description:

The position is for a Visual Analytics & eXplainable AI Intern at Bosch Research and Technology Center North America, located in Mississauga, ON, Canada, with remote work options available.
The intern will conduct advanced research and engineering in visual analytics and eXplainable AI (XAI) for business domains such as autonomous driving, connected vehicles, Industry 4.0, IoT, and car multimedia.
Responsibilities include applying research results to real-world use cases with high-quality implementation and integrating the resulting systems/software into existing Bosch platforms.
The intern will also summarize research findings in high-quality papers and patent submissions.

Requirements:

Candidates must be Ph.D. students in Computer Science or related fields.
A major in visual analytics, eXplainable AI (XAI), applied machine learning, or related fields is required.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in full stack web development is necessary, with proficiency in both frontend technologies (e.g., React, Vue.js, D3.js) and backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django).
Candidates should have at least 2 years’ programming experience with one or more scripting or statistical programming languages, such as Python or R.
Desired qualifications include a publication record in top venues of visualization, data mining, or machine learning research.
Knowledge in machine learning and data mining, particularly in eXplainable AI, high-dimensional data analysis, event sequence/log mining, and computer vision is preferred.
Familiarity with mainstream machine learning platforms (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) is desired.
Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Knowledge in interaction and user experience design, as well as graphical design, is a plus.
