Remote VMware Engineer (German speaking)

Description:

• Join the team at Operational Services GmbH, within Deutsche Telekom Systems Solutions Slovakia, providing opportunities for German-speaking talents in Slovakia.
• OS is one of the leading ICT service providers in the German market and is considered the backbone of digitization in medium-sized companies.
• Responsibilities include the implementation, administration, and migration of VMware vSphere, NSX, VRealize Suite, VSAN, and HORIZON infrastructures.
• You will also implement, administer, and migrate Microsoft Windows or Linux system environments.
• The role involves using PowerShell, PowerCli, Rest, and scripting for automation and standardization of work processes.
• You will be responsible for project planning and implementation of commissioning and operation.
• The position requires problem and error analysis, problem solving in complex systems or system landscapes.
• You will create decision templates and concepts, configure complex orders, and follow up on their execution, including resource and supplier disposition.
• Additionally, you will conceive, introduce, and monitor measures to ensure service levels or customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• A degree in a relevant subject or comparable knowledge and skills is required.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in IT administration, specifically with VMware vSphere, Vrealize Suite, and Horizon infrastructures is necessary.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Linux infrastructures and central services (AD, DNS, DHCP, File, NFS, San, Storage, etc.) is essential.
• A very good knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalling, overlay network) is required.
• Experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, Rest, and scripting is necessary.
• Relevant certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or equivalent course content are preferred.
• Proficiency in English and German (B2+) is mandatory.
