Remote Web Developer

Description:

• Astor & Sanders (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider located in McLean, VA and is seeking a Web Developer.
• This is a full-time and remote position.
• The role involves designing and developing new database-driven Intranet applications using NRC approved software and platforms, requiring a fundamental understanding of Microsoft.NET Framework, PHP, Python, and Low code No code platforms.
• Responsibilities include gathering business requirements and developing an external application in Azure cloud.
• The developer will work with JavaScript functions, Common Gateway Interface (CGI) routines, and Microsoft .NET software.
• The position also requires designing and developing new database-driven Intranet applications using MS SQL server and/or SQL Azure and Adobe ColdFusion middleware.
• Modification of existing Intranet applications is part of the job.
• Data analysis using R software is expected.
• The developer will provide technical support to users of Microsoft Office 365 tools.
• Designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI is a key responsibility.
• Routine backups of software and management of backup media will be performed.
• The role includes providing technical support to users of applications.
• The developer will assist with activities involved in maintaining Federal Information System Management Act (FISMA) compliance, including document maintenance, system administration, and testing.
• Preparation of documentation for new and existing applications is required.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 5 years of web application development and web administration experience.
• Experience in .NET or C#, PHP, Python, and Low code No code platforms is required.
• Knowledge of JavaScript functions and Common Gateway Interface is necessary.
• Relational database design and support experience, as well as SQL knowledge, is essential.
• Candidates should have knowledge of Azure Cloud migration of applications.
• Bootstrap experience is required.
• Experience developing applications in Azure cloud is necessary.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools and Business Analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) and data visualization tools is required.
• A working knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Telnet is necessary, along with an understanding of effective directory structure design and drive mapping across a network.
• ColdFusion and JavaScript knowledge is preferred, as the legacy system was created in these technologies.
