Responsibilities include leading and providing expertise in scraping at scale e-commerce marketplaces, identifying relevant websites and online sources for data scraping, and developing effective web scraping strategies.
You will create and maintain web scraping scripts or programs, ensuring they are optimized and reliable.
The role involves cleansing and validating collected data to ensure integrity and accuracy, continuously monitoring and maintaining web scraping processes, and addressing issues arising from website changes or anti-scraping mechanisms.
You will optimize web scraping procedures for efficiency and scalability, stay updated on legal and ethical considerations, maintain detailed documentation, collaborate with other teams, and implement security measures to protect sensitive data.

Requirements:

Proven experience of 7+ years as a Web Scraping Specialist or in a similar role, with a track record of successful web scraping projects is required.
Expertise in handling dynamic content, user-agent rotation, bypassing CAPTCHAs, rate limits, and utilizing proxy services is essential.
Knowledge of browser fingerprinting is necessary.
Leadership experience is required.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for web scraping, such as Python, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Selenium is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, XPath, and other web technologies relevant to web scraping and coding is required.
Knowledge and experience in best practices for data storage and retrieval of large volumes of scraped data is essential.
Understanding of web scraping best practices, including handling dynamic content and IP address management is necessary.
Attention to detail and the ability to handle and process large volumes of data accurately is required.
Familiarity with data cleansing techniques and data validation processes is essential.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are required.
Knowledge of web scraping ethics, legal considerations, and compliance with website terms of service is necessary.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing web environments are essential.
