Description:

  • SES is seeking a Microsoft Windows engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide support for hardware, software, and operating systems for GSA customers.
  • The Windows Desktop and OS Engineer will maintain and manage Active Directory Group Policies for Windows 11 desktop operating systems.
  • Responsibilities include evaluating and applying Security Hardening guide Group Policies to Windows workstations.
  • The engineer will also manage Active Directory Group Policies for applications such as Microsoft Office, Edge, Google Chrome, and various client GPO setting requirements.
  • Investigating application, browser, and OS issues stemming from GPO settings and working with security for approved exceptions to the hardening guides is required.
  • The role involves managing Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) hard drive encryption for all GSA Windows 11 PCs, including legacy key retrieval.
  • The engineer will engineer and migrate other organizations and/or agencies from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
  • Documentation of methods and procedures will be prepared, and contributions to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as KIOSK configuration and Hardware Certification are expected.
  • GSA Baseline image testing and hardware and peripheral evaluation, testing, and certification for use in GSA will be part of the responsibilities.
  • The engineer will test and maintain BIOS guides for each model desktop/laptop in GSA.
  • Providing Tier 3 support to ITSD/DSS/ATS (IT Support) for hardware, software, and configuration issues is required.
  • Issues will need to be escalated to vendors and third-party entities as necessary and directed by the Government.

Requirements:

  • A Public Trust Clearance is required by the start date.
  • ITILv4 Foundation Training and ITILv4 Foundation Certification must be obtained within 120 days after hire.
  • Previous experience implementing Windows 11 in a large enterprise environment is necessary.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Windows engineer is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Windows 11 is necessary.
  • The candidate must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.
  • The role requires applying fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments, with work performed under supervision.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision is essential, and the candidate may supervise or lead others.
  • Strong communication skills in both oral and written forms are required, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
  • The candidate must maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and be available for meetings and other collaborative efforts during working hours.
  • A demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments is necessary, with the ability to use practical experience and training to determine how to accomplish tasks.
