Description:
OpenAI’s Security organization is dedicated to ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of its technology, people, and products.
The Enterprise Security team aims to provide a secure and functional corporate environment for researchers, engineers, and staff.
As a Windows Security Engineer, you will implement and maintain OpenAI’s Windows security infrastructure, instrumentation, and telemetry.
You will collaborate with Security and IT teams to design, plan, and integrate a world-class Windows platform into the existing security stack.
This role can be fully remote or based in San Francisco, CA, with relocation assistance offered to new employees.
Responsibilities include leading the strategy and implementation of the security stack for Windows, conducting threat-modeling initiatives, collaborating with product teams, implementing strong controls, influencing authentication and authorization strategies, ensuring security telemetry health, improving employee experience, and researching adversary tradecraft.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience and expert knowledge in Windows internals, configuration management, security hardening, and advanced security features is required.
Expert-level experience in protecting and managing Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including Conditional Access Policies, is necessary.
Hands-on experience with large-scale Windows fleet administration, including device provisioning, management, and maintenance, is essential.
Knowledge of credential protection methods such as Credential Guard, LSASS isolation, and virtualization-based security is required.
Proficiency in deploying and managing endpoint baselines, security solutions, and event log collection is necessary.
Experience managing configuration as code is required.
Familiarity with public cloud service providers, preferably Microsoft Azure, is essential.
Proficiency in Powershell and scripting languages such as Bash or Python is required.
A deep understanding of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures, along with experience in threat modeling, is necessary.
Strong collaboration skills, project management abilities, and prioritization skills for risk reduction are essential.
