Description:

Pavago is seeking a skilled WordPress Block Theme Developer for a contractual project lasting one month, requiring four hours of work per day in the EST time zone.
The developer will be responsible for creating a modern, lightweight, and SEO-friendly block-based theme optimized for speed and performance.
Key responsibilities include converting Figma designs into a custom block-based WordPress theme, implementing Full Site Editing (FSE) features, creating or enhancing custom blocks using React.js and the Gutenberg editor, and ensuring adherence to WordPress coding standards.
The developer must optimize the theme for core web vitals, ensuring excellent performance on tools like Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix, and deliver a fully responsive and cross-browser-compatible theme.
Troubleshooting and resolving any development issues promptly is also a key responsibility.
The ideal candidate will deliver a fully functional and customizable WordPress block theme, achieve at least 90+ scores on both mobile and desktop in Google PageSpeed Insights, implement an SEO-friendly structure, and provide complete documentation for theme setup and customization.

Requirements:

Proven experience in developing WordPress block-based themes with Full Site Editing (FSE) is required.
Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and PHP is essential.
Proficiency in Gutenberg block development and React.js is necessary.
Expertise in optimizing themes for SEO and page speed performance is required.
Familiarity with WordPress REST API and core functions is needed.
The ability to debug and troubleshoot efficiently is essential.
Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG) best practices is required.
